Note of 11-29-07: Another vote of approval comes from another nice reader who reported on a recent visit to this facility, saying, "I would like to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the St. Augustine area with pets. They are very pet friendly and the staff was wonderful."
Note of 01-15-07: One of our readers recently stayed here and had the following comments:
"Thanks to the recommendation on the website, we spent two nights (January 2007) at the Ocean Blue II motel in St. Augustine and had a wonderful time! The staff was very nice, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the beach was very clean (no trash on the sand, and regularly-spaced garbage cans available). We were also delighted to find out that the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park (http://www.fountainofyouthflorida.com )is pet-friendly! The Fountain of Youth staff were very nice and [our pet] was even able to come sit with us inside during the planetarium show."
Note of 01-03-06: One of our readers reported spending three nights here around Christmastime with her three Pekingese dogs and kindly provided the following feedback about her visit:
"It is a great place! The rooms have a patio balcony that overlooks the ocean along with a dog walk area and walking distance to the beach! And away from the holiday congestion of downtown St. Augustine. Highly recommended!"
Note of 11-03-05: One of our readers, her husband, and fur child recently spent two nights at this facility and kindly provided the following feedback:
"We found the facility clean and the rooms nice, with fridge, microwave, balcony with ocean view. The staff was very welcoming to our pet. Authur the poodle is the resident pet, and he was also very friendly. While the motel is not directly on the beach, it is across the parking lot of a great restaurant, Fiddler's Green. Beach access is very close(50 yards). The beach is pet friendly, and visitors can even drive on it. As you round the point,(maybe 1/4 mile down the beach), you can get a great view of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and the historic buildings of St. Aug. while not being in all the traffic. It is a quiet, beautiful area, and not too expensive. Thanks for the recommendation at your website. We can't wait to go back."

Notes and feedback about this area:
*** One of our readers had the following comments about one of the facilities in our data base for St. Augustine, the Ramada Inn on San Marco Avenue. She had visited the facility with her large german shepard and said no one asked the breed or size of her dog when reservations were made and there was a pet fee of only $10 per night. She said their room was on the third floor, clean, with nice furnishings. Her overall opinion of the place: "I would recommend this Ramada location to any pet lover."
