This is an Army Corps. reservoir on the Georgia/Alabama border with 117 camp sites, all with water and electric. The park is located on the southeast side of the reservoir. From West Point, Georgia, go four miles north on US 29. Open year-around.
Note of 11-11-06: Thanks to a kind reader for supplying us with this information. She wrote, "This park is really hidden from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They have RV and tent camping, but no cabins.
There are new and very clean bath rooms and bath houses, washers, dryers, tennis courts, a baseball field, children's playground, fishing, and boating. They even have wash sinks to bathe your small to medium sized dog."
According to our reader, camp sites vary in size, but the majority are private and ample - and beautiful.
"Dogs of any size are welcome, although I'm not sure there is a number of dogs per site limit. Dogs must be under your supervision at all times and leashed in public areas. My two dogs ran free around the campsite and swam in the reservoir the entire time without a problem.
Bambi and Thumper play here, so bring a chair and even a humming bird feeder to enjoy."
