Reader Note:

"Whale Watch Inn is not only 'pet friendly', but also 'big dog friendly.' I have a 100-pound Rotti and, many times, have found that "pet friendly" often means "pet friendly as long as pet is under 25 pounds." The inn was definitely showing its age, but the rooms were perfect for a couple days at the beach with the canine companion. The owners were great and really catered to my canine companion (even handing out treats!). It is about 2 miles from the Flagler Beach pier on A1A in a quiet area just across from the beach. Rates, at under $100, were reasonable, as well, with either no additional cost for dogs, or a minimal amount ($10). There are even hoses outside to rinse off all the sand your dog will probably have trapped in its hair after frolicking in the waves all day."
