Pet Candy That Won't Rot Fido's Teeth

By Patricia Collier

In what may well be the beginnings of a long line of products, Chomp Inc. has invented "candy" for pets.

The traditional "treats" such as bacon, chicken or liver morsels are old-paw, according to our resident taste testers, two very active and discerning border collies. They wanted something different and so we searched high and low before finding this candy, some which, by the way, also serves as a breath freshner.

Chomp manufactures "Yip Yap®" mini bone-shaped breath freshening "mints", packaged in a cute little tin for dogs, "Sniffers™" round and chewy beef and cheese bites in a candy pack for dogs and "Pit'r Pat®" mini fish-shaped breath freshening "mints" in a shiny new tin for cats.

Company officials said the pet candy was developed to appeal to humans as well as pets and they've met that goal for sure. Shaped, packaged and priced like favorite human candy, Chomp products are made from yummy pet treat-type ingredients and the packaging is nothing short of genius.

Perfect for dogs and cats on their way to obedience class, great for humans to stick in the car and divine for after a hard day on the bed or couch.

You can find Chomp products at area pet stores and in some areas, including Tampa, you might even find them in vending machines, right beside those chocolate bars you love so much.
