Skootie, The Climbing Clown

"Did someone say, 'Hey, Skootie, you handsome devil'?"

Introduction: Hi, I'm Skootie, a 4-year-old guy of mixed heritage. Even my vet isn't sure. Oh, well, not bad to keep 'em guessing! I look part terrier, but I've got basset feet, which means I do have sturdy paws, but kinda "scoot around", which is how I got my name. Plus, my feet are good for keeping mom's feet warm, she says.

I am companion to Nancy Holly of Miami Gardens, Florida. I have a sweet canine sister named Shiloh. We both met mom at Pet Rescue here. Shiloh was a past Pet of the Week on FloridaPets.net and you can read about her here.

"Don't I look fine? I am always ready to play, you know."

I'm only 14" at the shoulder, but mom says I love being up high. Like on the roof of her car, my dog house, lawn chair, and once I climbed a ladder after her and got up on the roof of our house! Oh, and I love to ride on top of the cooler inside her vehicle when we travel. What can I say, I just love being high...haha, I mean up high!

From my mom: Skootie is 100 percent clown. People who meet him can almost see him bounding from a circus car with the clowns. I want to tell you a bit about how I got him. I was wanting a second dog, but my mom, who was in a wheelchair, thought one was enough. But I kept after her and she finally said OK.
