Brooke, a special lady!

The regal pose of a classy lady.

Hello, I'm Brooke, a 13-year-old greyhound. I live in Atlantic Beach, Florida
with my human companion, Bobbi Mills.

Bobbi says Brooke was "discarded" to Greyhound Pets of Greater Orlando (GPAGO) when she was 11-years-old.

"She had not been spayed because she was given to someone directly from the track at about age three,"
Bobbi said, "When she went to the vet for spaying, a routine part of GPAGO intake,
she was found to have bilateral breast cancer."

Bobbi, who was Brooke's foster mom during her surgeries, said she had some complications with each side, but
was a real trooper and has now been a breast cancer survivor of two years!

"When I took Brooke on a breast cancer survivor walk at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando, some people spotted her and wanted to adopt her, "Bobbi said, "And that was when I realized I couldn't give her up."

The worst behind her, Brooke now runs in a nice yard with her doggie siblings, Ginger and Nubby.
She steals stuffed toys from the others and hides them. Brooke also loves to go to Paw Park to run and play and,
like any self-respecting gal, she loves her dog cookies and Greenies!
