Bernie, the really, really big puppy!

"I'm a super-sized fur kid, alright. That means I've got super-sized love to give."

Hello. My name is Bernie and I am a St. Bernard. I live in Clearwater with my humans, Cori and Kevin Adams.
I was born about two years ago in Wisconsin. When I was 9 weeks old, I already weighed 25 pounds.
I now weigh around 165 pounds.

Bernie and his human mommie, Cori, are very attached. They don't go too many places without each other. When Cori, Kevin and Bernie moved to Florida in 2004, Bernie developed some separation anxiety.
He now attends doggie day care five days a week while she and Kevin are at work.

"He seems to love it," Cori said, "He has his own special friends there, although I think there are days
he'd rather lay on the couch and sleep. Sounds good to me too!"

Cori said Bernie loves toys and she keeps a wicker wash basket full of them.
"When he feels sassy, he will go grab his toys and want to play!"

"Wouldn't you love to play with me?"

Bernie has a few favorite things, like ice cream, which he shares with his mommy, eating right from her spoon, and an occasional pop tart. He loves to play hide and seek. Cori said Bernie is very smart. His Daddy bathes him at home in the bathtub and he has learned how to turn around, back up and scoot over. And when you've got 165 pounds
of dog in your tub, that know-how becomes quite handy!

Bernie does not like to hear, "See ya later." Cori said he gives them that ol' famous St. Bernard look, the one that says, "Where do you think you are going without me?"

The best thing for Bernie these days is he is going to get a house with a fenced back yard very soon.
Then he'll have plenty of room to be the big, sweet fur baby he is.
