At first glance, you might think I just make a good lap dog, but I actually have a very important job. My guardian and I met when I was only eight-weeks-old. We started working together in a special program in Dayton, Ohio that trained her how to train me to work as her service dog. Here's a picture of me with her at one of her swimming competitions."
"While I'm not a huge fan of the water myself, I am often around it to watch over my guardian."
From My Guardian: "Bailey has learned to pick up things for me, turn on and off the lights, and help pull my wheelchair. She has been just about everywhere with me. I am a competitive adapted swimmer and while she didn't make the trip to Athens with me this summer for the Paralympics, she's been to nearly every other one of my swim meets. She literally watches me in the stands. She only becomes relaxed when she spots me out of the sometimes 100 other swimmers in the water - a feat that is challenging for my human friends and family sometimes!
"Bailey Brinx and I moved to Florida over a year ago so I could go to graduate school at the University of Miami.
While sometimes it's too hot for Bailey Brinx here, she does love the dog parks!"
"Did someone say 'dog park'?"
