Boca Raton

Note of 08-21-06:

Dogs are not permitted on Boca Raton area beaches. The fine is $25.

1. Boca Raton Dog Park

Located at 751 Banyan Trail. This city park has two acres; one acre for large dogs, one acre for small dogs. Open daily except Wednesday 7:30 a.m. to dusk; Wednesday noon to dusk. Offers benches, water stations, doggie waste bags, trash cans.

Note of 10-13-05:

One of our readers has alerted us to a troubling new situation with this park. We have verified that effective October 1, 2005, a "parking permit" is required to visit this park. There's no charge for the permit for local residents with proof of residency or vehicle ownership, but there is a charge of $25/month or $265 per vehicle/year for non-Boca residents.

Note of 04-01-05:

Thank you to the two separate readers who provided us with info about this new dog park. One of those readers recently visited it and said it is wonderful. This dog park replaced the one formerly located off Broken Sound Boulevard. The city's contract with the T-Rex Boca Raton Technology Center developers expired and so, this dog park was born.

2. South County Regional Park

Located at 11200 Park Access Road.

Note of 01-29-05:

Does anyone have any more info about this dog park?

NOTE: We can't visit every area on a regular basis, so if you have information about any dog parks or beaches, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Boca Raton area, please contact FloridaPets.net.
