For inquiries about this park, please contact (941) 625-7529. Note of 04-29-08: One of our readers has expressed concern about this park. "It was a great place to take your dogs when it was first opened. It closed for a while after Hurricane Charley. Once re-opened, it seemed to draw people with bigger dogs that would go after other dogs without much concern from the owners. Now, there is a problem with the homeless hanging around the park, especially at the picnic tables in the gated 'Small Dog' area. I do not feel comfortable taking my dogs there anymore...sad, we waited for a park like this for some time." Note of 12-19-06: According to the Web site of The Animal Welfare League, this park has reopened after being closed due to damage from Hurricane Charley in 2004. Located at 22967 Bayshore Road, off Bayshore Drive in Port Charlotte. Offers dog park area, picnic tables, playground, restrooms. NOTE: We can't visit every area on a regular basis, so if you have information about any dog parks or beaches, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Port Charlotte area, please contact FloridaPets.net.
