NicevilleThis area closes for the week of the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival, which is held the third weekend of October. This is a unsupervised off-leash pet walk area located at the Mullet Festival fairgrounds, just north of Niceville on Florida Hwy. 85. It is open dawn to 10 p.m., at which time lights will shut off automatically. This is a completely fenced-in (double gates), shaded area of about 5-acres with large oak trees and separate areas for large and small dogs. There are plenty of lawn chairs and two picnic tables. Reader Notes: "This park has a cool water fountain for dogs and the place would be nicer if people cleaned up after their dogs." "The park was wonderful. I am so glad I found it and I will be going back on the weekends from now on. I was surprised to see how many people didn't pick up their dogs poop though. Usually people are more consciencious than that." NOTE: We can't visit every area on a regular basis, so if you have information about any dog parks or beaches, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Niceville or Okaloosa County areas, please contact FloridaPets.net. |
