Note of 10-09-06: There's been an interesting development in this area. The Marco Island City Council.has expressed interest in offering a trial run of 6-12 months to see how allowing people to walk their leashed dogs in certain city parks works out for everyone. At the Council's October 16 meeting, suggestions and recommendations will be provided for a first-reading ordinance change. A public hearing has been planned for the Council's November 6 meeting.

Web Mistress Note: Residents, visitors and businesses interested in seeing some public space set aside for people and their dogs should attend the meetings and make their voices heard on this issue. Perhaps Marco Island will adopt a common sense policy similar to the one just approved in Naples.
