Bark Central Dog Park

Note of 01-25-07: One of our readers tells us this park is now open and provides us with the Web site, as linked above. This is a paid membership park. The park offers 15 acres of off-leash romping space enclosed by six-foot chain link fencing, separate areas for small and large dogs, filtered swimming ponds, indoor, warm-water bathing tubs, outdoor rinsing station, plenty of trees and more.

Note of 08-07-05: This is a dog park still in the conception stage. It will encompasses 20 acres of land located north of Turner Camp Road along Cabana Boulevard. It is to be a private operation and memberships will be sold for around $30 a month or $300 a year. Members will be responsible for cleaning up waste.

Citrus County zoning officials recently voted to approve zoning for the park and discussions are currently underway regarding fencing and noise control. The park will offer open fields where dogs can run leash free, filtered play ponds, areas for agility training and more.
