Daytona & Holly Hill Beach1. Dog Park Open dawn to, as one reader put it, "whenever the bugs get too intense." Offers areas for both small and large dogs and is leash free in a fenced area. Also has tree shade with benches for doggie guardians to sit and chat while the dogs play. Also offers restrooms, water and clean-up bags.
2. Dog Beach - Ponce Inlet Reader Notes:
"It's an awesome place. Although they say the
dogs have to be leashed, I've seen several black labs playing fetch in
the water and it doesn't seem to be enforced."
3. Dog Beach - New Smyrna Beach
Thanks to the reader who told us about this dog-friendly portion of New Smyrna Beach, at the northern tip of the barrier island. We understand the leash law is enforced here and that warnings are given, followed by a $55 fine.
4. Volusia County parks
Pets are welcome at county parks (in addition to the parks listed above) as long as they are kept leashed and under control. Guardians must clean up after
their pet and aggressive animals should be left at home.
NOTE: We can't visit every area on a regular basis, so if you have information about any dog parks or beaches, or any other animal recreation facilities, in the Daytona/Holly Hill area, please contact FloridaPets.net.
