Charlotte Harbor

Paw Park

Located at the Edgewater Park at 22410 Bayshore Road, in Port Charlotte.

Offers two fenced-in areas for dogs to run off leash, one for big dogs, another for little dogs. There is a playground for kids outside the fence, picnic tables, a water hose and water bowl, and public restrooms.

Reader Notes:

From Web Mistress: More than one reader has expressed concerns about larger dogs being allowed to intimidate the smaller dogs here and, when the guardians try to speak with the people with the large dogs, they are met with intimidation. The reader below reports the exact opposite problem; small dogs being allowed into the larger dog areas. If you have trouble with dogs or people at this park, please contact Charlotte County at 941-627-1628.

"I have visited the Bayshore dog park several times now; the only issue I have encounted is people bringing their small dogs into the large dog area. I would like to suggest people not leave their dog on-leash in the dog park and sit at tables, holding the leash. Their dog will naturally be more protective on-leash and with their owners holding them back."
